Sup folks..

So, i understand that some people call their p13 as "super white" or "white diamond" to increase the selling value.. but what really makes it what ever is it called?.. is there any specific traits that we need to be awared of to not be fooled? (Like leopoldi vs BD) Or it is just their big spots that make them "white diamond"??

The reason im askin this because someone is offering me this ray, and it's said to be "white diamond". But im not too sure and wanna know more about it.

This is the ray that a vendor offering me

First one looks BD and the others who knows ..could be a lower grade of white diamond or something else. The white diamonds I've seen for sale were labeled by percentage on how white and crazy big spots

My understanding is that 'white diamond' is just a marketing term used by breeders to fetch more money. It's not actually a recognised type, just BD rays which have more bigger white spots.

Only issue with some of these is that as they age they don't look as good with some bigs spots breaking up or fading, so make sure you se pics of parents first. As that will tell you what Ray will end up like

Thought these big spot Rays were hybrids... Here are some they say are SWD, 75% percent SWD, and one they call a emperor.

Super white and white diamond are completely different lines from different breeders in Asia. I think for The most part white diamonds are just selectively bred BD's over several generations who have very large very white spots.
Super whites, are a hybrid line. The first 3 look like SW, the others look like they could be SWxBD hence the 75%SW. You have to remember that your only seeing the best of the absolute best posted online with all of these line bred rays like super whites. There will always be variance, there will always be average rays compared to absolute knockouts even within the same litter from the same parents. It's just genetics and nature at play.
The original ray you posted is likely not a super white. It's more like a nice BD. Seller could be using "white diamond" to bring in more coin. Depends on if the seller is reputable or not. If they are, then I would take them at their word.

Either way, do you like the fish? Is it a fair price you and the seller agree on? Then who cares what it's called...

Either way some of those last ones are incredible, not seen any like that in UK.

I know Lode in the Netherlands has some he's breeding.

How much £$ do they run for over there?
