I just order a 370G (8' X 30"X30") tank I plan on putting my leichartii Arowana and 3 leopoldi stingrays in this tank. Does anyone know if I could put Super Red severums also ? And how many ? What fish other than the severum would you suggest.

Ed

Leichartii and FW stingrays are not good tankmates, as the aro usually bites them. A SA aro would be nice with rays, though. But you can try it... Maybe it works for you. Oh, the super red sevs would be nice in this tank. Good luck. :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

I have Green severums and my ray does not care much about any of my other fish!
I would watch your lech it would be a shame to loose more leo's in the world!!
Good Luck!

I would give it a shot Ed but keep your eye on the leichartis. Make sure you have a backup tank ready just in case.

Thank you everyone, I also have two 180G that I can put the leichartis in if I run into problems. The reason I got the 370G was to give the Leo's the room to breed if they wanted too. So maybe the leichartis will end up in one of the 180G. Would the Leo's work better a silver or Black Arowana ?

i had a jardini , which is supposed to be one of the aggressive aros, and it never attacked anything in my tank, except my other jardini. but besides that, he got along very well in my tank. i eventually sold him along with my other fish so i could keep piranhas.

i also heard its fine to keep aros with stingrays because they wont bother eachother. but i have only heard of one case where the aro owned a stingray. it was a asian arowana and the stingray was a hystrix i think.

i say go for it. your tank will look sex. if you're woriied about aggro, then try adding a few more aros in there. you can find silvers around the same size as your leicharti for alot cheaper.

Why not consider Red Hood, Silver Dollars and Pleco... :)

I wouldn't count on a 30" width tank being enough for adult leopoldi.

I know a guy that has adult leopoldi that are 20+" in diameter. That 30" width tank is going to look small quick.

this setup should be better. put your leicharti on the 180gals and the leopoldis in your 370gals. silver and black will do fine with this rays. imo :grinno:
