Tench, tench and more Tench

I'm not good at fishing , I go and not a lot happens but for once in my life I'm discovered a secret that lets me catch these beauty's all the time:

3 days and everyone a stunner, my PB was 4.75lbs and I beat it day one:

Started with a 4.5lbs:


I had another before I hit the 5lb mark(PB):

Over the next couple of days I had others that would have beaten my previous PB, between 4.75lbs and 5.1lbs, I'm keeping my PB at 5.1lbs, my net weighs about 0.5lbs wet and the big one tipped the scales at 5.9lbs:

I had others as well, just thought I'd show the best ones, the maggots keep the Robins busy they will eat any bait within a few inches of where you are sitting

The tench or doctor fish (Tinca tinca) is a freshwater and brackish water fish of the cyprinid (commonly called 'carp') family found throughout Eurasia from Western Europe including the British Isles east into Asia as far as the Ob and Yenisei Rivers. It is also found in Lake Baikal.[1] It normally inhabits slow-moving freshwater habitats, particularly lakes and lowland rivers.[2]

They do, though, fight differently, for while care generally make long runs Tench do not. There is more head shaking with Tench
