This is going to be a log of updates on my breeding pair of a Texas and Blood Parrot. The fish first successfully spawned in a 100 gallon community cichlid tank, however i decided to get the most out of this breeding pair, it would be best to seperate them into their own 55 gallon. After two days in the new tabk they spawned again. The fry are free swimming of yesterday. Im hopping the parents will be able to raise the fry mostly on their own, and luckily they have been doing a great job.

Heres a fee pictures I captured today. Day 2 of free swimming fry

my freind told me to sort out the fries from 2 week because big deformed parrot dominated ones will get bigger quick and kill of the good smaller ones keep sorting and observing killing of or geting rid of the deformed ones and in 2-3 months you will have about 2-3% of the fry that will start fading and have good coloration to it

You will not get a single shortbody Texas from the pair. Your best fry from them will be red Texas. Most everything else will be bland culls. I think the last spawn of pure carpintis x kkp I ended up growing out 4 fish from 300+.

Lots of threads on mfk of this pairing.
