Funny story had to share it. I purchased a 45 gallon custom column aquarium and a metal halide light fixture many moons ago. My wife and I were in a studio apartment at the time very small space. Every morning I would flick 2 switches one for the metal halide and actinic bulbs. It took a few seconds for the halide bulb to completely illuminate lol. Man had to get comfortable with the brightness but the corals and seahorses loved it. The darn bulbs cost nearly $80 at the time can't imagine how much one cost now. Anyway visitors would always say it's so bright in here Thank goodness for led lighting.
