I know everyone says not to feed goldfish to our rays due to the high thiaminase levels. I was just curious on what percentage of thiaminase is in our raw tiger or white shrimp that is being fed to our rays.
Does anybody have a list of the levels found in various foods. I have seen a list of what fish and seafood contain it but nothing to give any info on the amount. Or is any level dangerous.

I feed alot of tilapia and shrimp. This article says polluck does not contain thiamine. I may try it as it is cheaper?

After a recent pick up that was eating pollok I started feeding it to everyone. Very soft fish if thawed in water. Also it is like a sponge. Everyone one of my rays wil take it with no problem.

Agreed about the texture. Only thing I don't like about Pollack is that it seems very messy.

Like catfish?. I hate feeding messy fish! Will supplementing tilapia and shrimp with vitamins cure the thiamine issue?

The mess was mostly from my Dats. When they inhaled it, a bunch of little pieces would always break off and float around. I still feed it occasionally (pellets are their staple) since it seems to be one of the healthier foods.
