ok just last night i got some convict cichlids that petco gave me for free (one male and two females) because i go in there so much. only problem is that they werent quarantined and the guy that had brought them in to donate had just got there and they were still in the bags so when i got home i introduced them to my 29g aquarium...NOT A GOOD IDEA:wall: ... i now have a bad case of ich on all of my fishies and the worst one off is my oscar, he has cloudy eyes, ich, stressed breathing, and all that great stuff:cry: ... so i stayed up all night, fortunately i went to walmart at about 3 in the frickin morning to get some ich away and some bubblers for my quarantine tanks, with one i have only my electric blues, one i have my new convicts, and my 29 gallon with the blind oscar, the fine and dandy jaguar cichlid, the not so fine and dandy green severum, and the fine plecostomus. they are doing a bit better as of now i have treated them with mardel trisulfa, nutrafin cycle, and wardley watercare ick away.if there is any thing else that would take the diseases away quickly please tell me. this whole dilema has emptied my pockets of money...:feedback:

Raise the temp and add salt (1 tbs per 5 gallons) will cure it. This method won't kill your bio filter like meds will.

make a tank with no gravel bed and raise the temp to about 87 over a period of 3 hours than add formalin and wait then once it is gone put the fish into another emptey tank like the 1st one and do the same.

confused, lost, and lonely
Warm the water, add salt, strip the tank and disinfect everything before using it again, and daily 75% waterchanges to lower the free swimming ich population.
