Those Japanese nets every kid has..

I wanted to catch really small fish(around 1") but I don't have any nets that would be able to catch them.

You know those small nets people use in tanks right, the ones that the mesh is so small you can catch even the smallest fish. Well in Japan, they have the same mesh but the diameter and handle is longer, so kids can have fun catching fish in streams, etc.

Do they sell those here in the US? I can't reach out to fish a few feet away with the aquarium nets, and I can't use any of my fishing nets since the mesh is huge.lol

i dont know if they do sell stuff like that in lfs but i do know that you can use a swimming pool net lol

Big dip nets like that aren't too hard to find here in the states, either.

my lfs has them, they're sold as koi nets, check your local koi fish supplier
for them

My walmart as those. You can basically just use a Butterfly net.. it does the same thing, and it's really tiny mesh.

Butterfly Nets are pretty much any department store are only $5 or $10 at most. I think for a fish-specific one would be more.. but I know that butterfly nets are more delicate due to the butterfly's "powder" stuff on their wings or something, and they work just the same, as long as they're sturdy enough to be run through water. If you want, you can probably go to a dollar store and get a plastic butterfly net for $1. But you'd probably be safer to go to a department store and look. I know for a fact that Target has very sturdy butterfly nets. Sturdy enough for me to put my friends head in one, and then pull without it breaking.

I used a butterfly net to catch ghost shrimp, but it was plastic and could hardly move through the water, let alone fast enough to keep up with the fish to catch them. It bent a lot and isnt very good.

You can make your own net, just get a long peice of dowel ( Circular wood), then attach like a ring onto it and put a net on.
