Hi,
I just noticed today that all three of my tinfoil barbs have red/bloody spots under their front fins.

They are all over 10 years old.

All of my other fish in the tank appear fine and all the ammonia/ph/nitrate/nitrite levels check out normal.

Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like Hemorrhagic septicemia. If you post your water perameters in numbers Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, PH and Hardness I can make a suggestion as to which meds will be most effective.

thanks so much for the response.

PH: 6.7, Amonnia: 0 PPM, Nitrite: 0 PPM,
Nitrate is a little high at 30 PPM
i dont have a test kit to test hardness

I use an RO/DI filter for my water and add in RO safe before doing water changes. This morning it looks like 2 of the three tinfoils the red spot are already starting to dissappear but one of them still looks bad.

I was going to do a quick water change to lower the nitrates then medicate with a broad spectrum anitbiotic. What are your thoughts?

Use Minocycline (Maracyn 2). It's a good choice for this in low hardness low Ph.
