Is he double tail or not? What do you think of him overall? Is he pretty to you? I personally like his colors.

I got him at about 3pm today and he was lifeless in the cup. That video was shot no more than 30 mins after he was added to the tank. Just goes to show what a good filtered heated five gallon tank will do for a fish. Got him from PetSmart. They recently added "Dragon scale" and "Half moons" to their betta display. The half moons were more delta's and super deltas though and the dragon scales were all of the plakat variety. This one looked double tailed though so I picked him. His name is Ciel. Ten points if you can tell me where that name came from.

I think he's a normal Halfmoon plakat! the tail is a bit long though!

Yeah I"m not sure. I will know for sure in a couple weeks if or when his split "heals". I dont' think he's half moon though his tail doesn't seem to reach the required 180 degrees to qualify as half moon. He's a pretty boy though so I won't be sorry even if he's not a half moon double tail

hmm it looks like he might be part...his split is only partial, so it might be somewhere in his genetics..his dorsal fin is no where long enough along his body.
so ..maybe give him a few weeks and see if it heals or not.

nice job on saving him he is a very lovey green mustard gas (his colors)

Yeah. That's what drew me to him. The color. He's such an active fish now. I"ll watch the split. I have 3 others who are heteromorphic on their father's side for double tail that look like regular HMPK. I'll watch him. With the tank he's in he shouldn't have any problem healing if that's what's in order.

it take a few weeks for a HM to heal those tail injuries!
