I have a small 3” flowerhorn alone in a 55 with white stringy poop. He constantly spits his food out before eating it as well. I have previously treated him with epsom salt soaked pellets with no success. I’m planning to treat him with API general cure. Do I need to treat him and his tank, or can I treat him in my smaller quarantine tank to use less medicine?

This fish also came sick from the pet store with ick, already treated cured, and these intestinal issues above.

I would treat in the separate qt - as you noted you’ll use less medicine way.

In cases of spitting, I have had pretty good luck with flubendazole, versus Levamisole or General Cure.
