There can theoretically be an albino of any of the plecos. I've seen albino Pterygoplichthys pardalis, G. gibbiceps, and even A. adonis. They are out there, you just have to find them.Warborg;4325009;4325009 said:There is no true albino common pleco, there is an albino marbled sailfin. The lowest I've seen was $12 but they were sold out.
I was thinking that they looked like Sailfins.Warborg;4325009; said:There is no true albino common pleco, there is an albino marbled sailfin. The lowest I've seen was $12 but they were sold out.
No, $20 total for the three.WyldFya;4328114; said:$20 per albino is pretty expensive if they are in fact G. gibbiceps in an albino morph.
The difference is pretty easy to spot. The easiest trait to look for is a faint spotted marking on the dorsal fin. If you see this, G. gibbiceps, if not, it could be one of many other albinos sold as "common plecos".
Alright, great! And I would agree with them being Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps. Thanks for the help!WyldFya;4328153; said:$20 for 3 is a good price. Without the dorsal up, I can't be 100% sure, but based on shape, they look like Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps.
