I've been searching on the net but have been getting conflicting sizes. Lots of 16". some claiming 20" or 22". Thinking of getting one but don't want something thats going to outgrow the tank. Tank is a 60"x18"x24". Anybody know?

22 to 26 inches. Before the when poly keeping was prime, the max size was posted at 14 to 16 inches. That was false. As more teulg were being kept, keepers have had one that reach to around 2 feet.

The tank would be good for a long period of time.

But I don't have room for a bigger tank. Think it would be cramped in there if it got to 24"? They seem pretty slender but its hard to tell from videos. I have 2 dels in there already.

I had a 21" from Toyin which grew to 22" in a year. I sold him when I took a break from the poly scene. My guess is these guys can reach 25+" easily. They can survive in a 18" width tank but 30" is probably optimal for them. I would recommend them for tanks with a minimal of 24" width.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll think i'm going to pass on them then. There were a couple babies at the LFS and almost bought one based on the quick search I did on my phone showing they maxed out at 16". Glad I didn't. Nice fish though.

We imported a 65cm specimen this year. It's doubtful CB animals will ever get anywhere near the 16" mark nor show thesame colors you are likely to find on wild animals.
