I've been on this website I think 2 years ago and pissed of some people for abandoning the post and leaving them hanging. Which I am sorry for if you guys remember me at all.
I had 1 arowana about 9 inches couple months back and I bought 4 more from different people. There all almost the same size 3 which are 2 inches bigger then the other 2. Now that there getting bigger - still smaller than 18 inches. There starting to change in looks , one of the big arowanas has a large lower jaw that passes it upper lip. It looks like a under bite and got a lot darker and look kinda greenish while the other large one got darker to . My original one looks more yellowish and not near as dark. And the 2 smaller ones are just amazingly beautiful
There silver with a lot of pink on there fins. Now what there housed in is a 135gal with some other aggressive fish. The arowanas do show agression to each by circling each other then one of them will bite the tail then vice-versa. They don't fight where it stresses then nor where they stop eating. They don't chase each other either. Also it looks like they only fight with the same ones they fought with before. When it comes to feeding they all eat and act like food hoggers but everyone gets the food because I don't see a "top dog" or as you may say an alpha.
I know they will outgrow the 135gal but this summer I will place them in my koi pond all 5 of them and let them do there things. I don't know if they will pair up at this age but this will give them There room and grow faster. The pond is 15ft long 9ft wide
And 4ft deep in the center. Once winter arrives I will house 1 or 2 in the tank that's only if there not way to huge should be less then 20inches. The others will be in a rubber maid stock tank. Till winter ends then will be going back to the pond . hopefully I will have a pair by then. And if I only get one pair the rest will be sold off. Will that's my plan to get a pair what do you guys think?
