Hello All. This species is ancient enough. They dont really have a section on MFK to place these except the reptiles and amphibian section, but I think these guys look and act more like lungfish then anything else they are condsidered. Here are some pics of the 2 toed amphiumas we have been collecting down here in South Florida. They range 10" to 3 feet in size. We have 10 avalible. Check out the pics, and send me emails for any questions, thanks John

Amazing as always!

I wonder how it would fare with other bottom-dwellers such as pim catfish. I'd hate to lose any rare fish to the monster bite of a salamander.

They have actually been around for a really long time. Their just arnt enough people out their that know about them. They make really neat pets like the sirens and lungfish. And will live in any tank setup with fish that wont fit in it mouth. I have a 30" two toed in with rafeal cats, atinga eels, and some other bottom dwellers. They will leave a nasty bite on anything that they feel the desire to eat, but I have not seen them have that desire towards other tank mates. I have been told not to keep these together, but that is a myth. These guys will live together long term or short term as long as the dimesions of your tank are appropriate.

I had an amphiuma a while back.
they bite a lot, but they are really interesting as captives.
btw are you selling any turtles? specifically small snappers or musks/muds?
