Hey everybody. Currently I have a 220 (6x2x2.5) with a 29g sump. Stocked are 6 subadult uaru a., 3 subadult uaru, baby super red plecos, corydoras and a few small angels. My goal and options are to get three more baby uaru to grow out. This is my first small-big tank and medium sized cichlids.
My question: is a 220 enough footprint for 9 adult uaru? Changes to happen include:
-replacing 29g sump with 55g with drip system or automated water changes every few days
-removing glass sump and tying in a 100-150g stock tank hooked up to 55g planted aquarium
-Removing angels to another tank in addition to the above
I think I can get away with clean water and happy fish doing it this way. I am a stickler and big weekly water changes and as needed, so not overly concerned about nitrate build up.
