Imported these in recently, one is a new species which is the Hypancistrus sp. (Jacarecanga Pleco)
and the big boys that change color like the Chubby but look like a Luteus Hypostomus jaguribensis (Jaguribe Pleco)

Plecs are great info enjoy keeping them and strangely enough I like finding the rare ones and spending money on them.
My favourite so far has to be the vampire plec, the real vampire plec not the galaxy

I love pleco’s, but why they so damn expensive... lol you don’t have to answer that, I was just talking to myself.
Some cannot be bred in aquariums and are wild caught = expensive

some take a long time to reach sexual maturity = expensive

in the time it takes to raise and breed some of these plecos an entire line of guppies could be created, bred, and expired.

Plecos just take more time =expensive lol

you could spend 20 years working on your own line of plecos and have nothing to show for it haha (maybe not nothing....but you get it....time haha)

They are and I would never have a tank without them in

My sailfin gold spot is really funny. In the morning when I feed them all soaked pellets, he’ll inch his way up and grab one, then while he’s still vertical, he’ll slowly sink down along the glass so I can see him chewing it. Sometimes when he grabs it he’ll swim upside down for a bit while he’s eating!]

I know. I’ve had Commons, Albino Bristle Nose, Albino Sailfin, Clown, Galaxy. Now I have a Gold Spot Sailfin, Chocolate, and a teeny tiny Albino Bristle Nose that I keep in a cylindrical vase along with plants and 2 snails. (Different species of snails so they don’t reproduce). I’m going to move him into a bigger tank once he grows some. I wish I could have my tank full of different varieties at once! But we all know the nature of the beast.
