So as many of you know I have a cresty and planned on getting a female for him today for the 29
I was going to pick up a female today to complete the project, but instead decided that i wanted another type of reptile. So I picked up this bad boy I mean Girl lol
She is a female red iguana a month or two old, very beautiful and hard to find in my area, I know they get 4-5' eventuality but I have the capacity to take care of her for life!
While deciding on the enclosure I thought I may as well go big so here's the build:
I started with Just a plan utility shelf 40"Lx76"Tx24"D but since the top is used for the gecko tank the iguana tank is 40"x40"x24 for now, when she gets bigger I may take the gecko tank off and extend it all the way up or build a bigger tank
Cut out a hole so my lights could fit without actually being in the iguana habitat
threw the cresty cage ontop
Did a little quick decorating and put a 2' tall piece of glass at the front so he can't escape
Have a 6gal planter filled with water for now, obviously when he puts on size I will upgrade that as they are semi aquatic
That's what the end product looks like
Not bad for a 50$ utility shelf, 15$ piece of glass and 15$ worth of wood, humidity is steady at 55-60 but I think more is better, going to put a small filter in the water tub to agitate and keep it clean, hopefully that will help!!!
Anyways thanks for checking out my build and I look forward to a long happy life with my new found friend
