Hi all, Id llove id shark and a few species of pike (like i posted eariler about the kafue pike).. I know they will grow into huge size.. and i need a few guidelines and help of what should I do...

I lived in Canada and its quite impossible to set up a pond outdoor and keep the temperature around 24-28c all seasons... But buying a large 200+ Gallon fish tank, it wont even fit thru my front door...

Will you guys recommend of purchasing a walmart's pool (they can hold thousand of gallons of water and cost fairly cheap) to keep 1-2 ID shark.. and 2 kafue pike and some Angel fish?

The fish would love that one for 39.99, so much fun.:grinno:

I was atually thinking of doing the same thing last fall. Walmart had a pool like the $199 one on clearance for 59 bucks. I delayed on buying and it got sold. Don't see a problem with it just make sure were you place it can support that much weight.

So if its a fit-thru-the-door issue instead of a costs-too-much issue, then what about building a plywood tank in your house? Go really cheap, just use plywood and a liner, put something like a non-overflowing overflow in a corner and run a webcam down there so you don't need a window...

I dont know how to setup an above ground pool using plywood and liner. I think you need to calculate the strength of the plywood or something (i dont know the calculation).

1 Gallon of water = 10 pounds.. 1000 Gallon = 10,000 pounds..i cant imagine what would happen if the plywood give way... a mini scale of tsunami?

pool would be much easier and probably around the same price. DO IT! it would look awesome, 2-3ft ID sharks.
