I have a 4 feet oscar tank, with an Eheim 2217.i was wondering whether i can use a wavemaker instead of using a powerhead to circulate the tank water.will a wavemaker create more turbulance making it uncomfortable for the O fish? need your suggestions...
i'm not going for the powerheads because in our city,we get the chinese brand powerheads which are not good in the long run and are highly inefficient.

if you have a oscar in a 4 foot tank you already have a wavemaker lol mine goes ape **** all the time and hes in a 6ft tank

if you get a weak wave maker I dont see why not? theres little difference normally wave makers are much stronger then power heads using a lower wattage and you cant run air in them. you would want something with a very low flow wave maker wise, I run a 8000LPH on my 7x3.5 and the fish love it.

Try pointing it up or in a way that the fish can get out of the current so his not constantly fighting it and dont get something to large its only a 4ft tank, Id be going for a nano wave maker.
