I thought I wanna do it, I thought I can handle it.. but its giving me a headache.. :O

Restoring an old antique 120G!! ><;;; Its still sitting in the van >.>

Missing a 48" x 24" and the bottom is some sort of plastic ...

Sometimes you just need to ask yourself if its worth it! All that angle iron to work through can be a pain!
First things first I would get that thing out of the van and remove the plastic bottom. Is that where the plywood is? or is that the missing side piece?

it sticks to the plywood and missing a 48" x 24" glass piece on the side..

if the plywood piece was not the bottom previously then i would suggest makin it the bottom....the diffrence in having a bottom piece in a frame like that and having a bottom piece that rests on a even surface(like styrofoam) is the weight distubution areas....in a frame you create weak points on the glass!!

im not very good at explaining stuff so if this dont make sense let me know and ill try some more

id say this can be a lekker weekend project!!!

I would say clean it up and use it for some reptiles i don't see it working out just because it has the iron sides how are you going to take it apart like that and put it back together any ways make a nice big home for a pair of lizards or something good luck glad it's not me i would take out the good glass and make a diy tank with it instead

I have mixed feeling about it. I love vintage tanks and had quite a few slate bottom metal tanks over the years but to be practical about it... those two pieces of glass are going to cost as much or more than a lot of used 120 gal tanks I've seen on E bay.

That's great !!
I would completely restore and up date it.
Get the glass and wood out, blast the frame and have it powdercoated black or polish it, replace the panes that are scratched/trashed, apply new silicone, and have an awesome vintage tank that's been around longer than you probably.

at least they used stainless angle iron...i like it...

I got my 120 at a bigalls remodeling sale for $50..., it was one of there fishroom tanks, painted blue.
