woke up this morning found my aro swimming very slowly and weird. his nostrals are ate out kind of like a sore and his color is weird also. I am changing 50% of my water raisung the temp to 82 and adding some salt. i don't think he is going to make it though. all my other fish are great my water parameters are perfect(nitrate 15,nitrite 0, ammonia 0) I added some seachem chemicals last night for my plants(floursh excel and flourish iron, and a pad to remove my phosphate so i am sure it is one of these thats the culprit. If he dies I am going to puke. let me know what you think. thanks

Why do you have nitrates? ? and 0 ammonia? Retest your water ..buy another test kit.. yours maybe off and do a massive water change.. im talking about at least 60%..
make sure your trickle the water back slowly...

What happened? any clue from yesterday? change of diet? tankmate? etc?

nitrates are the end product of the nitrgen cycle right? so you should have 0 ammonia and a low amount of nitrates. no change in diet he ate his krill great last night. as for tankmates he is the king, he's 12" I have a 7" pictus, a 5" lima shovelnose, my freshwater moray and a gold nugget pleco

heat got to me... i couldve sworn you typed nitrite!! Your right and trates that are 15 is actually low even for sensitive fish.

That is def weird. I would do a massive waterchange still and add salt to help ease the aro a bit.

I moved him to a hospital tank added salt and a half dose of melafix. added more air and raised the temp slowly to 85. I covered the tank with a towel and turned out the lights now its a waiting game. I really hope he makes it. Just buying another arowana won't fill the void this really sucks. thanks everyone though for your help this site is the greatest.
