My husband and I just ordered a beautiful betta from Aquabid for his desk as work. (I think he was feeling really far from home without a fish nearby.)
Even thought this is 'just' a tiny little betta, we still are giving him a pimped out tank. (We are MFKer's after all). The breeder offered me the female sibling as well for breeding, but, when she found out I have never kept betta before, she said she would no longer offer the female to me. She proceeded to explain to me about water changes, etc. She was VERY NICE actually, so no bagging on her please. The poor thing probably thought that her prized bettas were going to some fish noob that were just going to stick them in a tiny bowl together, throw in some tap water, and kill it. I'm sending her photos of the currently cycling planted tank that this guy is going into. I hope this will reassure her that the discus and exotic catfish/pleco specialists will be fully qualified to take care of her bettas. Its not actually fully planted and arranged yet, but you get the idea.
Can't wait till he gets here.
