Mine has always been the Jack Dempsey. Absolutely love the way this fish looks. This is one I owned five or six years ago.

Just for clarification, JDs are not South American Cichlids, they are from Mexico, part of North America.
And to the OP, do you mean the generic new world cichlids (encompassing North, Central, and South America?
Or do you actually mean, just South American cichlids?

Apistogramma are very colorful.

Festae I think. There are lot of South American that have some beautiful color but for the most color this vibrant, it’s hard to beat Festae.
