What types of fish or snail anything really would be good to stir up my sand in my 55 gallon. I had Sulfur dioxide form under that tank earlier this year and I took it all apart scrubbed everything and I’m looking to get it up and running again. I will rake the sand every week but I really want something else to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I think the problem was I left some sand in there from when I had chiclid and I capped it with 3 inches of gravel and that really caused me issues. This scape is an island scape in the middle with plants on the island and the surrounding area is just sand . I think I’m gonna stock some neons in there but any ideas to keep that sand clean?

I would say a smaller geophagus or maybe a small spiny eel but they would probably eat the neons, maybe snails like MTS

Big Botia Loaches, such as YoYo's, Y. Modesta (Red Tails) or Tigers should keep the substrate stirred up.
They all do a good job in my tanks.

Crayfish are good, usually don’t eat other fish.
