As the title suggests. Looking for the least aggressive towards other species, such as smaller catfish(mainly raphael) and loaches. I would love a Senegal, but after seeing that video of them feeding on the catfish, I am not so sure. I love catfish and that is the main theme of my tank.

Would there be a type of rope fish that would be less aggressive than a bichir?

Or would it be a case similiar to when i tried an Australian Short Finned Eel... if it was hungry, anyone was a target.

My experience the Palmas Buettikoferi has been the least aggressive bichir i've had. It also depends on the individual fish. I have a 5" raphael that I had before my bichirs and he is in with a 13" Ansorgii hybrid, 8" Palmas Polli, 10" Delhezi and a 6-7" Buettikoferi, and they show zero interest in it. Although I keep them well fed and don't feed live very often. The Moke might be a good one to keep as they seem to stay small and don't grow very fast, senegals might work too just make sure theres not a huge difference in size between the fish.

Senegal

i have 5" senegals with my 3" raphaels... ive never seen them being bothered by the sens... well they are juvies and this is the first time i have put them together and it is only been 10days... so not an expert on it but so far so good.. :)

It is an individual case, but I will agree that sens and ropes give me the least problems, especially CB sens.
