What is the minimum tank size for a dovii cichlid?

I am thinking of getting a dovii cichlid, what is their minimum tank size, I've heard everything from 120 to 180, some have said 220 to 300, a few have even said 600 gallons, so what is the real minimum tank size? Because I am going to be making the aquarium and finding large enough glass panels for the tank that's thick enough will not be easy. I know I want it to be atleast 6 foot by 3 foot by 2 foot

Standard cichlid etiquette is a footprint of 4x length and 2x width of the fish.
Assuming a male will get to n average of 2ft you should aim for the 8x4 with at least 2.5-3ft of depth imo.
I don't get what anyone gains having a dovii tbh, jags, Freddy's and mota look way cooler:p

I don't think it's any coincidence that the largest dovii owned by a member on here was housed in a 600 gal, if you want a 24+ inch dovii that's what size you should be aiming for.
Ok, Yeah I was looking at maybe a 6 foot by 6 foot, problem is I can't find glass larger than that, and with this I'm looking at getting a 220 and taking it apart and using the 2 long panels, I just can't find glass that big and that thick, I still don't know how well a 220 aquariums glass would do with a plywood aquarium that large

Glass thickness goes by the hight of the tank, 15mm is what most 2.5 ft high aquariums are made out of. Go for that hight and you should be fine. Personally I would grow him out in the 220 till he hit about 15 inch, trying to grow a tiny fish out in a huge tank normally ends up with getting bored and selling the fish.

Meh, don't they grow pretty fast though? I don't know what piece of glass I could find that is that big, would maybe say 6' by 6' tank work? I can't find anything over 10 feet long, I just want it because I hear they have the most personality, worse comes to worse I'll just get an oscar in place of the dovii

6 by 6 would be big enough. They grow fast but your still looking about 3 years for it to get 15 inch. There awsome fish if you can house them, but take a couple of years to come into there own.

Ok, that would be about 500 gallons, but most of the 220s I see are maybe 2 feet high which wouldn't be ideal for a dovii, I know of one dovii almost 2 feet long in a 210, so I'm sure that would be enough, Maybe I'll just get an oscar if dovii's would get too big

You can grow a very nice 20 inch dovii in a 210 gal. You can't grow a 28 inch show stopper dovii in a 210,
