i have a bunch of red belly piranhas in my 75 gallon tank. each of them are just 3-4 inches. what do you advice that i feed them at this time? thanks guys
P's are scavengers and will eat almost anything from flakes to newborn babies and everything in between.......beefheart, shrimp, flakes, pellets, feeders, ect, ect
what kind of worms? i feed my piranha earthworms and he was eating bloodworms when he was smaller.. i would advise getting them on some type of pelleted food asap.. that way you always have a steady food supply.. and pellets offer the best coloration and overall nutrition for the fish... as they get older i would use silversides or smelt along with fish fillet and market shrimp as a staple, but still use the pellets to ensure good coloration and a good balanced diet.
Im still new myself to this but frm wat i read and try my self is shrimp a high end pellet food ,fish nuthin too expensive tilapia, catfish or watever beefheart even gave them chicken one time also frzn veggies. Also only feed live feeders as long as they been quarantiened 2-3 weeks
