I have a super large red devil, and a few other ciclhids, so i feed the ciclhid sticks, but none of the fish run to the pellets when they are fed. But after about 4-5 hours they are gone, same thing with flakes, I have tried peas but that is too messy what do you guys recommend?? My red devil is just like every other, he swims in front of me upside down, chases me when i walk by the tank, spits rocks at the glass....but my girlfriend loves him. I just dont know what to feed him that he will EAT

Try Bloodworms, your RD should go crazy for them.

Welcome to the forum.

Totally agree on the blood worm!
Someone on here once referred to them as 'fish candy' and never has a truer word been spoken IME..

agreed all the way to the top....

krill, or raw market shrimp (my fish won't eat it). Brines too small for large fish IMO. Just feed him some pellets, if he doesn't eat them too bad, he will eat them when he gets hungry. Just remember, varied diets are the best.

if he isn't eating then you need to get him eating healthy stuff first (hikari gold). if he is eating that then don't worry about it. fish don't have the same requirements as humans. he looks pretty good to me.

just keep doing what you are doing it will eat eventually if the fish was apoiled of the good stuff they wont want to touch the pellets but after a couple weeks they will get houngry enough and eat the pellets I had an oscar and a jack dempsey I bought big and they were spoiled of feeders and it took them like 2 weeks before they went after the pellets I put a wild cought bluegill in one of my tanks last year and it took 3 weeks before it ate and one day i was feeding my fish and it went crazy over the pellets from then on
