In all honostoy I think they can they just have to be acclimated properly VERY well acclimated maybe a 4days of acclemation imo. But I think I read somewhere that if its to high brakish they can't pump the salt out of their gills and die a slow painfull death. Might wanna read up on which species above those are. You can acclimate guppies and mollies to brackish\salt ,so why not give it a shot? After the proper research has been done.

What you can do is maybe add a low salt content in the tank (just enough) and gets some damsels and maybe tank raised clown fish if that's what your trying to do. I know a member on here who has done full saltwater fish and fresh water with some powder that has proteins from salt water and you add it ,it makes it so the two can co exist. I'll find you the thread its really old and got closed..
give me a few and I'll find it.

If they were meant to be brackish, they'd be found in brackish waters. ;)

Because it's stupid and causes unnecessary stress and will probably lead to death. If you want salt and/or brackish and/or freshwater fish, just get multiple tanks.

There are brackish cichlids... They are the little-know Asian cichlids and belong to the genus Etroplus. There are only a couple known species.

From that list, there are some brackish/marine stingrays. Other than that, there are lots of other fish that are actually from brackish water. Try some of them
