They need water give or take a few degrees of 55. Anything hotter and they will sit in one spot all day. I had 3 in a 125, got them at 6 inches and sold them at 14-16". Species only tank. 14 incher ate my smallmouth. If they're big enough their strikes can break glass. Muskies are the most beautiful fish ever created and after having them for 12 months I think they belong in nature only. Just my opinion.
Agreed. I live in s.c now but im from nh. And i have caught norther pike around the five foot mark. On more then one occasion. I caught one a couple years ago. when i got it home i put it in a kids winter sled. And its tail and head were hanging over the sides. The tank would have to be huge. Would have to have a seriously huge chiller which in its self would break the bank. And the glass would have to be super super thick im sure. I can c one braking inch glass for sure. They are so strong. I have hooked them like 30 feet from sure. And they just take off. And is a long 45 minute to a hour battle to get them in. I would say in my opinion you would have to dig a huge out side pound for them. Would be awsome thow. I have had them take atleast 18 inch large mouth bass of my fishing line before.
