I'm building a 75G Malawi tank so I need some aquarium friendly rocks. People say best place is to try building material stores but seems like all I see is HD and Lowes. Does anyone from OC got some fav store for rocks wanna share with me? Thanks!!

Up.
I went to Thompson in Anaheim and they only got lava rocks and 'baja cresta'. All baja cresta rocks are brown in color, theirs look like limestone so I'm not sure if the label is correct.
Still looking for suggestion. Come on Socal MFKers!!

This is sort of how I set it up in my tank. Much more intricate and way more caves, but you can get an idea.
All the limestone is flat on two sides and the slate pieces are nearly a foot long.

Yeah, I found mine at a rock and gravel building supply. I payed by the pound.
If you are looking for a particular type of rock, like Italian blue marble, or Brazilian sterling vein marble, you cant just go out the back door...unless you live near a quary in Italy or Brazil. If you aren't sure if its limestone or sandstone what do you do? Sure, rock like granite you find in the mountains, but what about special colors and such? People find manzanita, mopani and malaysian wood and sell it also. I probably could go down to the beach and get some sand.
If your trying to get a certain type of whatever, dont knock the people filling a niche out there, the heavy lifting so to speak.
