Which sand can you use from Home Depot?

i just picked up 2 today
they also had quikrete fine whtie sand, but i wasnt sure if it was safe for aquariums and if a gravelvac would suck it all up

how hard is it to gravel vac sand though? my 40 has planting soil in it sorta thing as substrate, and its a PITA to vac that, and id imagine sand would be even finer...

Very easy... just lightly swish a siphon an inch or so above the sand. I use the conventional kind for waste removal, because the STS siphon (straight-to-sink) isn't strong enough.

can the quickrete playsand be bought at home depot? is it ok with rays?
i checked out leisles pool supply and they dont ahve any sand

I tried to come up with a couple of close up pictures of the crushed quartz pool filter "sand". It is heavy enough to vacuum.

i USED PLAY SAND FROM HOME DEPOT ALSO. NO PROBLEMS. RINSE WELL. AVOID TURING IT UP WHILE ADDING WATER TO PREVENT A DAY OR SO OF CLOUDY SETTLING WATER

Pool sand is in the garden department at HD. Ask an employee. It works great.

I had the Home Depot Play Sand in my turtle tank and it really dirty when you get it, its a ***** to clean but once you do it works fine.

just went to home depot and they dont have white play sand, does anyone know where you can get white play sand or white sand for cheap in ny, i have pool filter sand in my 180 but its tan, i want white sand in my 55
