Just found out about this last night while watching Sons of Anarchy. Apparently Directv and Fox haven't been playing nicely with each other. Directv refuses to negotiate, so they are threatening to remove FX and National Geographic (and a few other stations) from their lineup starting November 1st.

I've loved Directv the whole time I've had them. But if this goes through, I will cancel my service in a heartbeat. FX and NatGeo are some of my favorite stations to watch. No way I could live without these two.

Anybody else concerned about this?

Thoughts?

In my area I can go with Dish Network or Comcast. Or online tv shows. I'll most likely go with Comcast if this goes through.

This is what will happen in my service area:

DirecTV customers, in your area you will lose the following networks as of November 1, 2011:

FX
FOX Soccer
FOX Soccer Plus
FOX Movie Channel
National Geographic Channel
FOX Deportes
FUEL TV
SPEED

If DirecTV will not give you the networks and shows
that you love, you have other provider options:

Comcast - 800-266-2278
Surewest Communications - 866-787-3937
Telepro Communications - 425-957-1657
TVMAX - 832-495-4109
DISH Network - 866-296-6363

i don't get dish or comcast where i'm at, but i'll go back to time warner and i friggin hate time warner but i'll do it for the UFC

i think i'm dropping showtime and staying with basic and living off netflix. it sucks with all that's going on, but it makes more sense because i don't watch much tv as i used to and when i do, i literally probably only watch <5% of the channels

i think most of us drop over $1000 dollars a year on cable easily. if i can find a way to get the sports i want, i'm gonna can comcast and just hook my laptop up to my tv and stream everything. gotta be more cost efficient then this rape

the only options where i'm currently at is comcast and dish network

I wonder if this will backfire on Directv like it did with Netflix. Netflix stock was in the $220s before the price hike. Today it's $78!

man, ufc is gonna air fights and tuf on fuel tv, i'm not even sure i have fuel tv

i'm gonna drop direct tv and find another provider if i lose the ufc stuff

just cancel now. i just took a wire from outside and put it in my window. turns out that wire gave free tv. more people should do this.
