I have a kelberi that’s around 3-4” and just added two 5-6” spider kelberi, they’re probably about twice his size.. should I be worried about them eating him? At what size comparison would I have to stop worrying about this? I currently have a divider up with the smaller one separated from them

i have a 5” Azul and a 3” ocellaris in a 180G that are fine but made the mistake of adding a slightly smaller orino and while he survived it was definitely a mistake. Came home to him hiding in the corner with a mark all the way around his body and his tail fin being half gone. I put him in his own tank and thankfully no scars and everything grew back quickly but I still felt terrible. I have other fish too that are on par with the Azul so maybe he wasn’t the culprit but I would be weary.

it's 50/50 bass can be ok together then in a split second turn on one another. all depends on the temperament of the individual bass.

I had to wait till the next day to get the divider up so at first I put my smaller kelberi in a floating basket. Came down a few hours later and he had gotten out and this is how I found them. They were schooling and staying together so I figured I'd leave it as is. All weekend they've been best of friends. The spiders are not eating much of what I've offered (frozen shrimp, krill, bloodworms, carnivore pellets, and a few other cichlid pellets)
Started to get some takes then spit outs on the pellets but no real eats yet other than some frozen shrimp, even that they lost interest in after a few eats. My concern at this point is if they don't start eating they might decide they don't want to be so friendly with the smaller kel anymore.
Other than live, what foods could I try?
I've soaked pellets also...

So recently I purchased some mono peacock at about 2" mark, now they're about 5" and just recently they've been chowing down some rainbow fish about half they're size. So it's a possibility they may cannibalize on each other.
Rainbows are now out and we're a great help to get them the bass strictly on pellets now.
