I think my rays are chewing each others tails' at the tips. They, obviously, look chewed on and are turning white from it. Will get picks but I am pretty sure it is inevitable. I feed daily sometimes twice daily, but they still do it. Any suggestions?

The pool with the 10 bigger rays has no probs at all....The 4 in the 300g, motoro, leo, 2 flowers, are nipping each others tails. The only fish in the tank capable of doing it.....maybe pbass, dats, gar...? I don't know? I think they are doing it to each other. I recently just made the tank "bare bottom" and it seems like they were more aggressive last night to each other.. There is plenty of driftwood and plants but? Guess I am going to hope they just cut it out but we'll see

lol didnt know you had two flowers. obv one isnt enough. do all 4 have nipped then? i cant imagine it to be the dats or pbass. or a gar really. hmmm...

Yeah they heal, my old male motoro would do it to my female for some reason. If they stop it should heal in a day or two depending on how bad. I have no idea why they do it, and I'm not sure how to make it stop. It only stopped for me cause my male died.

The disk will heal but the tip of the tail will not. If the tip is turning white it could be from somthing other then nipping.

Why wont the tail heal? If they take a chunk out, the tail length wont grow back but the skin will. The white part showing is just most likely the cartalidge (spelling) in the tail.

They will heal but it wont grow back . Disc bites might grow back but it depends on
how big the bite is.

ya,

sorry to tell you. the wound will heal up, but the tail will not grow back. thats why we usually see adult or larger rays with really short tails..

Its a real pity.. my ray used to have nice perfect tail, but my stupid luo han went to nip it.. Damm!
