Will an Oscar get more aggressive as it ages?

I've got a wc Oscar who is ~4.5" maybe more and I just moved it in with a group of geo tapajos and uaru amph Who are all pretty much maxed out for size so I'm not too concerned at the moment but can I expect that as he gets older and larger it will become more aggressive? I've never kept astronotus before but you always hear about each fish having its own temperament, and it's pretty chill for now, kinda hoping he stays that way.

he's getting near the size that you'll start seeing his personality emerge, found that with most cichlids around the 4-5 inch mark; hope he isn't too aggro for ya

If he is raised with his tank mates from young he should be fine. Most Oscars are rather placid compared to most big cichlids

I have a juvi dovii which ingot at 2 inches. He is now 4+ inches. I am training him to be a gentleman sorry gentle fish but now he is more of a nutter. Attacking food and showing the signs of aggression. So as convict360 convict360 said at this size you will know what you are getting into lol

How cool would it be if you defied all laws of nature, and created a gentle dovii haha

If that would be possible we have lots of docile fish lol

But you are spot on about size and behaviour.

Yeah I noticed it in GT's, Oscars, JD's...that size seems to be the average for the attitude to kick in lol. Exceptions to every rule too...such as my GT becoming hyper aggressive at 2.5 inches haha

They way I picked this juvy from a tank of almost 80 juvis. Every other juvi was faw away from this one. This male was in the center within a cave. Evetytimes it comes out there was a virtual ball of emptyness arround and others move to the cornirs. In observed this behavior firnsome time and then got this.

when I read this I pictured a dovi with a monocle and a top hat. haha. but yea thanks for the replies folks. fingers crossed he/she will stay chill. I got it at about 3" and its been in a tank on its own at my place for about a month, so this is his first test run with buddies. there's been more aggression from the uaru towards him than him to anyone else, except a lone diamond tetra that was left in that tank who is lucky that he is nimble
