My friend alby-oscar had him in a in a 45 with loaches and other small catfish. He was starting to become aggresive so I took him. He was put into a 150 gallon cichlid community tank. He has always been the smaller guy in the tank and has always been picked on. About 4 month ago I moved him to a 75 by himself to heal up. He has put on size and seems to be healing but its taking along time. He's now in my 400 sectioned off by egg- crate. I have a feeling he will always be scarred. I was wondering if anyone has had a flower horn beat up this bad heal out? Will the scales ever grow back? They seem like they are, I would just expect them to heal faster. Will his fins ever loose the white in them? Thanks for the feedback.

He should with good filtration, and some medicine in no time. I had a jack get the $#14 kicked out of him before, worse than you flower horn and he healed in about a month.

The pictures are of him after he has been healing for at least three months. That's why I think he will never fully recover. He was in worse shape when I moved him. Right now he is sectioned of in a 400 gallon tank that also has a large marbled motoro in it, so I cant medicate. Just give him perfect water, quality food and keep the temp @ 82.

put him in a smaller tank, and put meds. my flowerhorn took about a month for full recovery. also try putting water salt and using stress coat, it has aloe helps with tissue regeneration.

how do rays react with something natural like melafix?

it works great for injuries like your FH has and speeds up the process.
