As the title states Would you recommend the Rena Filstar xp4? I am setting up a 150 gallon grow out tank for rays and I want to have perfect filtration, I already have a cascade 1200 canister that is rated for a 150 gallon tank and I am very happy with the performance of that filter. I want to add an extra filter, I'm looking at the xp4 which is rated for tanks up to 260 gallons, this filter would filter my 150 gallon tank along with the cascade 1200 canister. Please let me know if you recommend the xp4 or not. Thanks

I haven't had any problems with my XP4 other than it's a little heavy taking it out from the aquarium stand for cleaning because it's filled with water. They seem to filter water well. I have one XP4 combined with an XP 3 in a 100 gallon and the water is crystal clear. I also have a XP4 in a 180 gallon with a wet/dry. I have some cloudy water issues in the 180 gallon but it could be because the wet/dry has only been filtering for 2 months and the bio cycle has completed, yet.

i would reccomend the rena filters in a second. both for the price, and the personal experience i have with them. they seem to filter very well, and can be packed to be either mechanical/polishing or bio beasts with the 4 trays of the xp4. or any combo there of.....

however, you can also get an fx5 for the same price as an xp4;)
