ps the squares at the bottom of the legs are maple blocks that I put on. the stand does not come with these feet. it has plastic feet that are pressed into the steel.
I love steel stands. You might be able to have a local welder make one out of angle iron. Tell them it has to be level and ask for a center support if they're unsure of the weight capabilities. I have a DIY steel stand made out of 1" by 1/4" thick angle and it's awesome. I wish all my stands were steel!
