XXL Red Devil food

Finally managed to get this red devil I've been trying to buy for a while now from the owner of a fish shop not far from me, it was his baby but the big fella wouldn't breed with any female he offered to him so he finally sold it to me. He showed me the weird Asian pellet food he feeds it but I couldn't read the label (cause it was in Asian). Looks like little cylinder shaped pellets, no idea what's in them.

What's everyone feeding their monsters? I prefer to use pellet food but don't know if hikari will cut it for this fella, is there some monster fish pellet food I don't know about? That'll give him all the goodies he needs to continue to be a raging psychopath?

Any cichlid pellet 4mm and up will work just fine.

Best brand is new life spectrum, but I have used a bunch of different pellets over the years, usually I feed a mix. Nice fish btw

I stopped using new life spectrum because it was messy. Turned their poop red, made them poop a lot, and made the water cloudy. I feed a combination of northfin cichlid, northfin krill gold, and Xtreme monster now. Best foods I've used by a mile. The fish eat less, poop less, look great, and the food doesn't cloud up the water. My camera phone doesn't do the doc's color justice at all.

Dovii and a red devil. The dovii eats the northfin carnivore formula.

I don't think I can get anything like that in Australia, all I ever see is hikari and xtreme

I order northfin online. Go with xtreme, I'd call it a close second to northfin. Rapps uses it.

Sounds like you might be set on pellets- but my cichlids and all of my aggressive fish love frozen food best. Krill Bloodworms ect.
