I had about 150 pink zebra danio fry. After they were swimming for about 5 days, all of a sudden, all but about 10 of them died. I was feeding them "baby bites" (powdered food) made by Hikari. The parents were removed promptly after the eggs were laid and the fry were the only fish in the tank. I'm using a sponge filter. Any ideas on what went wrong?

Have never tried breeding Danios, but from what I have read the first week or so you might want to try something other than First Bites due to their small size.

Other than that I would say stick with the common advice of regular water changes making sure water parameters are the same. Feed small amounts 4-5 times a day, if possible, if not do what you can and space out the intervals instead of feeding a lot at once.

Quoting someone else:

You can order Liquid Fry food over the Internet.
A few alternatives are:
Infusoria cultures.
Egg yolk infusion. Hard-boil an egg, then take the yolk and mash it up, then shake the mashed yolk with water in a jar. Put a few drops of this water-yolk infusion in the fry tank for each feeding.
Rotifers. You can culture these or buy them frozen, and they are smaller than baby brine shrimp.

Kens fish.com has a first bites alternatives in various sizes - Golden Pearls under specialty foods. Not sure about the size difference compared to First Bites, but he has 6 different sizes.
