This is about 2.5 months since I got him.
Probably around 3 inch long.
Eating very well, just feeding raw prawn and squid chunks. And some earth worms from a compost farm.
Feeding once a day.
Running the tank as brackish, approximately 1 tablespoon of salt per 10L of water.35FF5309-6CE6-4398-A27F-8EDC0F26CB39.jpeg75C6E3AC-DAB4-4586-9FCC-EECD037D2141.jpeg

Had the genius idea of giving him some tank mates. 5 silver dollars about 1.5 to 2 inch in size each.

Thoughts were that him being pretty small, he may tolerate them and leave them alone.
This was going great. He would swim along with them and join their shoal.
They didn’t seem to be scared of him at all.
This lasted about 6 weeks.

Then I wake up to this 1 morning.90FD03F1-928F-47B4-9C91-F1B663C45CF5.jpeg
It must have only just happened, as it was still alive and breathing but could not swim.

I put an add up to sell the other 4. 1 more got killed the next night before the other 3 were sold the following day.

This is now about 5 months since I got him.
About 4 to 4.5 inch’s at a guess.
Smashing the food a lot harder now and getting fiesty towards the gravel vac when doing water changes haha.

Hard to get a good photo of him, always cruising around the tank.
Starting to see his little fangs more now.
Photos don’t do him justice.

Yeah no more tank mates period.
It’s what I originally planned anyway, but made a stupid decision with the silver dollars.

Epic mate! Nice looking jack! My uncle used to have one of these when I was a little kid. Kept fighting with his sooty grunter. They really are a beautiful fish. One of the most aggressive for sure. My uncles one bashed the crap out of his 2+ft Jardinii.
