Giant Slender Mahseer

Update:
Mahseer died after pushing lid open on tank, found dead on floor. Very sad, but have had enough time, (more than a month) that I will be purchasing another for my grow out tank in my gallery wish me luck. Fish out on over 1” in just 3 weeks with me so that was a plus. In hindsight should have put on stronger lid. Wish me luck with the next one!

THE THREAD CONTINUES……
A lot later than I planned but I finally received my shipment of 3, I repeat 3 Tor putitora slender giant mahseer from Wes… woooo that was a mouthful. Here they are in their bag. I finally got myself a tight lid. Water has a lot of oxygen in it. Feeling great about this! More pictures to come!!!

Nice looking fish but why do you keep classifying putitora as "slender"? Thats not a word i would use in describing the golden tor...monster, massive fish at least in every healthy example ive seen.

because they’re are much more slender than any other mahseer. Look at pictures. Even the larger orange fin isn’t close to being slender all mahseer are athletic but these are in a class of their own. Plus Wes made sure to say slender because a lot of “putitora” aren’t slender, which means they aren’t the true giant, it’s a way to validate the fishes authenticity if u will. Good question tho

this is what I mean. The right mahseer is a different species. The himal giant on the left is what we know as golden putitora mahseer. Much more “slender” and stream line fish.
