I recently purchase a few fish from Jeff rapps to re stock my 125 gallon. I aquire 1 male and 1 female red sided barred midas at 3-3.5" and 3 parachromis friedrichsthalii unseeded at 1.25- 1.5". Because of the Freddie size I put them in a smaller tank. But I had the 2 midas and two honduran red points in the tank also. I just got off from work to find one of the midas dead. I believe it may be the female. The male did chase often but no harm. I'm thinking she was too stressed out. Which is the reason I found her stiff. Photos below

How big is she? Is she in a separate tank?
She's 8" and her partner is a fader Flowerhorn with strong Midas genes. Same tank with him. Community tank though had tons of midevils and Red Devils and Midas in there from a different breeding group and sold them all.

I've never lost a Midevil due to aggression mainly due to overcrowding. I would have 100-200 grow outs and sell them off at 1-3" and my big female I thought it was a male since it was huge from the batch and the alpha and then one day she bred with my Flowerhorn and ate their babies. I was kind of glad since my Flowerhorn is now 12" and a beast and becomes nuts when he's spawning. Sand everywhere head nodding and just splashing water.

Yeah, I do see your fader flowerhorn with more of the midas showing. He is a beast. Where did you originally aquire you female?

The original mother not shown is s creamsickle and got her like 8 years ago from a guy who bought it from Jeff rapps. He had bought about two dozen and bought half dozen from him. Ended up keeping two and one bred with my my male Midas.
