Your frt needs calcium for it shell.

i put in cuttlebone for turtles to help with calcium and water ph. have you put the aquarium salt in with yours? will it kill the plants?

Does it eat the turtle cuttlefish bone? I put 1 tablespoons of salt per 5 gallon in my tank when I had a FRTs I didn’t have plants so I dnt know about that. Algae wafer is good daily diet dnt feed to much shrimp and high protein pellets this will cause the edge of the shell to curl upwards and the under belly plastron curl inwards and not flat.

no he don’t eat it. it dissolves in the water raising the ph to 7.8

billy is super shy. i put a ring camera next to his tank. when i’m not there he swims around like crazy. when i come in its back to the corner.

his shell is better now that the cuttlebone is in there. i have not been able to confirm if salt is a benefit or not.

contacting predatory fins is not easy. good luck with that.
