Hi!
We have a little Fahaka Fry, he's only about an inch long. We're struggling to make sure he is getting enough food. We've had him about 3 weeks.
We've tried the following
Ghost shrimp
Snails
Frozen Blood Worms
Frozen Brine Shrimp
Frozen Krill
Plankton
Earthworms

He's in a small tank until he starts to grow and we'll upgrade him as necessary. He is currently in a tank with more baby snails than he can ever dream of and not eating them, we've tried crushing them for him. Nope. Tried disabling baby ghost shrimp nope, blood worms he seems to enjoy stealing from the ghost shrimp then spits out. We can get him to eventually swallow and keep down 1 blood worm if we are lucky.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Have you noticed any white stringy poop? Puffers often come in with internal parasites.
Bloodworms and mysis shrimp are two things puffers rarely reject IME.
If you can get them, freshwater amphipods (scuds) are great food for smaller puffers.

Thank you! My wife just said she did notice some white stringy poop. He tries to eat the bloodworm and often spits it back out, or acts like he is sucking on it. We're going to treat him or parasites.

Can you post pics of the fish? They will be visibly thin in the event of parasites, but either way it’s a good preventative measure to deworm puffers.
Fritz expel-p (levamisole) works well.
Welcome to the forum btw!

Best one I could get. He's in our snail hatchery tank until he hits 2" then he'll move into our 40 gallon until he goes into the bigger thanks.

Definitely is very thin, similar to what I would expect out of parasites.
Start medication as soon as you are able.
Often as the fish is being starved, it begins to digest its own liver for energy. They are usually beyond saving by then - the fish appears to be nearing that point and may not make it.
