So my LFS wants to give me a beautiful 18" Clown Knife for a great deal! My question is would a Clown and a BGK 16" get along in a decent size 240 8x2x2?

Very much south..
It depends on the clown...
I fear that the ghosts elevtricity may unnerve the chitala...

They will not work together. Mainly for reason stated above.

I thought chitalas don't have sensors.

Correct. Gymnotiformes have Electric Organs while Chitala do not. Ive kept this combo together briefly. Only briefly do to the fact that the BGK was being moved to the bigger tank. For the few weeks that they were kept together, I didn't experience any problems. It comes down to individual fish and territory. Both fish can claim a tank to themselves and Chitala do not really tolerate similar fish invading their space (unless raised together, some people keep multiple Chitala together). BGKs can also be very territorial.

Just came back from the LFS and thought I'd share this...no damaged fins and seems to be getting along.
