LMB gender question

For those of you that have raised largemouth bass (LMB). Do you basically have to wait until it reaches over 16-18 inches to know that you have a female?
I’ve pellet trained a fingering F1 (Florida x Northern strain) LMB and would like to dedicate a monster tank to it if it’s a female. It’s currently about 2.5 inches.

At that size you're definitely not gonna be able to tell. Once it hits like say, 4 times that size, I'm pretty sure you're able to vent them.
