Was unsure where to posts these. Not pond related though goldfish related. I guess goldfish aren’t considered “monster fish” though have owned Koi that are 24+ inches.

Any way, getting ones better half involved in the hobby requires some sacrifices. I now have a 55 gallon tank dedicated to orandas. They make my wife happy and I can’t complain. Picked two of these up at Monster Fish in Queens and another through a dealer in Georgia. Lots of fun.

Their names are Bao Bao (the white one), Jules Vern (the orange one) and Moldy Baby Carrot (the mottled orange one with black accents).

They require a lot of filtration and create a lot of waste worthy of any large cichlid. I don’t plan on adding any more fish to this tank.

I’m pretty sure the subforum for goldfish would count as the cyprinid one, unless there is another.
I think that’s it. I did not look up “cyprinid” when I saw that forum listed (and wasn’t sure what it referred to). Happy if someone (a moderator) can move this thread there and apologies for miss-posting.

As uninteresting as goldfish usually are for me, that's some great color on Jules Vern.
